why can you buy an item and they cancel it saying it had been lost or damaged and then list it again

The item i bought was canceled then relisted again after I paid the money.

@jrrhere   I am sorry that happened to you.  The seller probably doesn't know this but they just received a DEFECT on their account.  It doesn't take very many defects to be banned from eBay permanently.
