buyer restriction

eBay won't allow me to buy things on bays website. comes up with a "temporary buying restriction". eBay absolutely refuses to let me buy. any thoughts as to what's actually going on and what I need to do?

eBay places temporary restrictions on buyers for several reasons. This page has more details about the types of restrictions and what you need to do to remove them.

If you only get the chat with automated assistant then in the chat box type AGENT to talk to a live eBay customer service agent or request a call back if you have a North American phone number. You may need to answer some questions with the chat bot to help get you to the correct agent.

Hours are 5 AM to 9 PM Pacific time. If you are using a cell phone turn off the spam filter or it may block the call back.

You can also contact customer service by sending a PRIVATE message on social media. Customer service verifies your identity before responding.
