Shipment Inquiry

Hello everyone, I have a question about something I shipped out.  on August 22nd I shipped a book out, it was in my mailbox and yet 4-5 days later it's still not showing up as being accepted by the USPS.  More than 95% of the time it will have shown up by now as being accepted by USPS at the local facility.  

Should I try to get a hold of them to see what's going on or give it a few more days???  If something is going on I just want to get out ahead of it.... Thanks in advance.

USPS will not initiate a mail search until 7 days after mailing, but without a scan I don't know what they would do. This is why it's a good idea to take things to the post office and get a scan at the counter.
