Seller requests bank wire as a payment method

Hello,

I won a xone 92 mixer on an ebay auction recently (800 Eur value) and once I clicked to pay for the item I was forwarded to the sellers Iban and SWIFT instead of paypal login. My question is: is this secure? Nobody gurantees me that the seller is going to send me this item once he receives the money. Furthermore, I noticed that he listed DHL as the shipping provider and I know they offer cash on delivery method. I offerd this to the seller as a payment method because there is no way that I will wire 800 Euro to some guy in another country with no gurantee and he refused straight away. So I am not sure if this is a potential scam.
