i noticed on my latest auction iwas bidding on , a bidder with a one was bidding me up then once that bidder went over my high bid he withdrew his bid... this has happened twice with the same seller,, what direction do i go?

Stop making multiple bids.  Decide ahead of time the most you are willing to pay and bid that amount one time, as late in the auction as you are comfortable with.  ebay will bid for you as other bids come in, up to your maximum.  If you win, great.  If you lose, someone else was willing to pay more.
