since there is NO WAY to get an ebay rep on the d_mn phone anymore, is this now the new normal???
Just accept it and move on??? This is outrageous. Since ebay sides with sellers it's even more outrageous. Ebay is WORSE NOW THAN EVER BEFORE, miserable experience.

@77-78yankees You do not have to accept a partial refund. If the seller doesn't respond with a full refund, or return shipping label then from your refund request ask eBay to step in and help on the 4th business day after you open the request:

Here are the two ways to contact eBay customer service.

1. On the eBay Help page, type a few words about the problem.
2. Find a topic that is somewhat related to your issue.
3. Scroll down to the bottom of that page.
4. You may see the "Have us call you" option.
5. If not, click the automated chat option.
6. When automated chat opens, scroll down to the bottom and look for "Contact an Agent".
7. If you don't see it, then click "See More" until you do see the "Contact an Agent" option.
8. Click the agent option, and choose the "Have us call you" option.
9. Turn off your spam filter if using a cell phone or the callback may not get through.
B . Or you can also contact customer service by sending a private message on social media. You leave a message and an eBay employee will get back to you as soon as possible. To speed things up you can leave your registered account information in the PRIVATE message: Full name, address, phone number, email address, user ID, and a brief explanation of your problem.

I did NOT open the request for a refund. The seller says item was "out of stock" but is only refunding a partial amount.

eBay is mostly automated. There's no reason to contact eBay for most issues.
You just need to go back to your open case after 4 days and ask eBay to 'step in'. eBay will either provide a prepaid shipping label to return the item OR refund you in full. You do NOT have to accept a partial refund.

The seller can NOT refund the tax you paid. eBay collected it, and eBay will refund it separately if the seller cancelled your order. It will take a few days.
If you don't get your full refund in a week ... you can phone your credit card company and get the rest from them.

THERE IS NO WAY TO CONTACT AN EBAY AGENT ON THE PHONE. WHICH OBVIOUSLY IS A THING OF THE PAST. STOP POSTING **bleep** LIES ABOUT CONTACTING ONE.

You're apparently too hot-headed to understand the answers you received.
You received accurate information on how to get your money back ... as well as letting you know that the seller is NOT able to give you a full refund. Some of them money ... the tax portion ... will come from eBay as a separate refund.
We are fellow members who volunteer answering questions for other members. I personally do not care whether you use eBay again. You will be doing many of your fellow members a favor if you just go away after getting your refund.
