Non paying buyers!

Why on earth is this info not factored into feedback anymore? I had someone with 1600+ positive purchases bid my item up to $145 & now he has ignored every message and invoice, but continues to receive dozens of positive ratings even while not paying for mine.. saying thanks for paying so fast! So I had no way of knowing he may skip out on my auction. I was counting on this money & I'm sure the underbidders have purchased elsewhere by now. Why does eBay let people get away with this?? Used to be 3 unpaid items & you were OUT! They don't even show the unpaid item count now. Any reasons or thoughts on this? I listed during a special for 1/2 final value fees, so even getting those back, I lose having to relist at full value fees .. not to mention the bills I needed to pay with that auction. Sorry... I am so dismayed that this is fine for buyers. Thank you, community...
