Mailing out magazines

Hello all. Wondering what you do for mailing out vintage magazines through the post office. Since they can’t go media mail due to ads in them, I send them usually in a padded envelope (with cardboard backing) and they usual  cost  $6-$8. Getting harder to sell them when you have to charge a potential buyer this much (you also have the cost of a padded envelope). Anyone else sell magazines that might have a cheaper alternative. USPS First class package is the cheapest shipping if you use ebay shipping, as the weight can be up to 15.99 ounces.  For 2 pounds and up compare USPS Select Package Ground, UPS Ground and Fed Ex Ground.
