How come the listing process allowed me to list BB gun without stopping or flagging me first?

Been selling on Ebay for awhile. Understand some things are prohibited.

I listed an old BB gun and it was removed.

I did this innocently, without knowledge or researching the policy.

It seems that the listing system would have a way to flag or prevent this type of listing to begin with.
