Help with info on antique eye glasses...civil war era

I have inherited a number of eye glasses that I believe were from the 1860's.  

This particular pair is in very good condition and looks like gold frames.  There is a mark on the ear piece that says 20.

Could these be made of gold or gold filled?  What does the mark '20' mean?
