Conflicting Ebay reports

I am a brand new ( rookie ) seller. Ebay sent me a msg saying I had a bidder win an item and they paid by paypal. I just checked on my items for sale two days ago and nothing had sold. The msg from Ebay said an item sold 3 days ago? Then Ebay sent me a msg asking if I wanted to relist the item it said I sold ? I do not know what to do. Also if the item sold it is going to cost more to ship than the selling price. Do I ship and eat the loss for reputation? Cancel the sale and refund the purchase ? I do not know how to resolve this ? I am willing to send the item if that is what is necessary for everyones good .
