Cancelling a sale as a seller

This has happened to me twice now when a buyer has asked to cancel a sale and I initiate the cancellation on my end. Ebay is supposed to confirm with the buyer on the cancellation but the buyer gets no messages from them. Twice I have used this feature and has left me with 10 days wait period until it closes out on its own meanwhile having to pay the selling fees until the issue closes. Why doesn’t Ebay just send the message to the buyer asking them to cancel the sale? This is unfair that the seller is always at a loss when cancelling the sale item. Any suggestions?

Is the reason (shown above) the reason that you are selecting when a buyer requests a cancelation? These types of cancelation requests do not have a 10 day waiting period.

 

If you are selecting the other reason, you should call eBay and ask them to remove any defects that you might have gotten from using the incorrect option. That option is for when you can't/won't ship an item, or you're out of stock.
