Hi;
I have a small pin with an unusual yellow stone. There are no markings on the pin. Part of the clasp looks like it was replaced otherwise everything else is fine. It is 1 1/4" in length. Any ideas as to what this stone could be?
Thanks in advance;

I love and collect these little pins... It's probably brass with a glass gem. It looks like there are some little air bubbles in the gem which is indicative of glass. Real gemstones don't have air bubbles. Looking closely at the brass, it was probably gilded with gold, which has rubbed off over the years. This little pin would have been worn on the collar and could be as old as 1910 - 1930.
Cheers!
