Indenting a metorite

I found this meteorite in Northern Maine. Indenting a metorite

It doesn't look like a meteorite, to my eye, although I am hardly an expert.  What makes you conclude that it is one?

Does his identification of it as a meteorite jibe with the info in the links I provided?  If so, then I'd say you are good to go in calling it a meteorite.

With all due respect, just because a person was a Scout Master in 1996, that doesn't mean they are qualified to identify a meteorite.

 

My first thought when I viewed this thread and the pictures, was how/when/who identified this as a meteorite? I'm not sure that identification is valid, at the moment.
