do I have to sign up for keeping my item for sale about what % of for example a item priced at $30. would it cost me to sell this item. I am trying to figure out if it is worth the trouble or I should just give the items to charity.

You need to sign up with managed payments with your checking account and social security number. Fees are around 13.25% of the total amount the buyer pays, this includes item price + shipping + sales tax. Plus $0.30 for items $10 or less or $0.40 for items over $10.00 as a transaction fee. New sellers will have payouts on hold for up to 30 days to ensure good selling history and practices. There are no guarantees in sales your item may sell quickly or it may take months.
