It`s rather new, Rain.
I wouldn`t use the term lucite. I`d use Jeweltone Acrylic Unfaceted Beads, instead.
They kinda look more of a rounded & tapered shape (almost like drops) than jelly beans. But perhaps thats just the angle of the photo?
Am drawing a blank on the construction tho (how they are put together..kinda stacked- like) but thats not the correct name, I know.

Thanks Sarah, being newer I guess around 1980 or so ? They are all on one string and loose on the string , not attached.. the hole is drilled on the teardrop narrow end. They alternate red,purple,green,blue.. then because of the round end, they twist into what appears to be clumps ? They are simi transparent.. I said lucite because I know they are some form solid plastic.. However accrilic (sp) seems right.. not celluloid or licite..

I imagine they are loose on the string in order to give them 'movement'..kinda like cha-cha bracelets.
You might even use that in your description..that it is similar to a cha cha.
As to the age..it is more likely from the 90`s forward..esp with that lobster clasp...so it could be more of a 'modern vintage'. I had to use the calculator..lol 2015-1990= 25 years! Mercy where is the time going!!!!!!!

If that is their original clasp then they look pretty new.

Use 'jewel tone' in your title, they are very pretty.
