What breed of dog is this?Please help me identify this cute dog's breed.  Many thanks.

It looks like it might be a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.

hahaha Really...who knows what a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is? Answer? Not me! I looked at the dog on the stocking and thought hmm...that's a Corgi. Then I thought, no, that's a Yorkshire Terrier. I am so impressed that you, ariverrunsthrough it, know the breed! Good job. 🙂

I think it is possibly a "Papillion". That literally means butterfly in French and refers to the ears. They were favorites of the French court and have a loyal fan base today.

Papillon seems to match several online photos I just looked at.  I don't quite see the "butterfly" look in this somewhat scruffy needlepoint version, but your guess is definitely the best one so far.  Thank you so much!
