I bought this set at an auction. It looks like stainless but it is marked 1847 Rogers and IS on the back. My book only has patterns up to late 1960's and I think this is later than that.Thanks in advance!

Is this silver plated?

I bought a bunch of silver plated gravy ladles at an auction and all but one are black with tarnish. The clean one is as heavy as the rest, and is marked on the reverse Colonial Silver . Is it plate?
