shipping vintage dolls

I have vintage dolls in their original box. Because of their size I have a hard time finding boxes. Can i write the box in bubble wrap and then thick brown paper several times around? What are the chance the box will get squashed.

after reading the responses, I repacked the doll using two boxes. It ended up costing about $17.00 to mail. Live and learn.

If you put calculated shipping on your listing, why does eBay put some random number in for the shipping? None of my listings indicate calculated shipping.

A listing with calculated shipping works automatically. It will show the shipping cost from your ZIP Code to the ZIP Code of any member who looks at the listing. When you look at your own listing, you see the cost to ship to your own ZIP Code.
