That sucks.
Depending on how they implement it (dim wt divisor, thresholds, etc) it may make Smartpost useless for some or all of the scenarios I currently find it useful for precisely because dim weight isn't in play.
ie: 3 pound 20"x16"x12" box is about $9.50 to zone 8 with Smartpost, and totally doomed via Priority Mail at about $59. $15 Parcel Select, and $28.50 FedEx Home Delivery. For a $20 item even the $5-6 more for Parcel Select can break the deal.
Along with the 4% across the board increase, and likely other surcharge increases, FedEx may in general become much less useful for me in 2018.
