My listing was an auction without reserve, minimum bid had been placed, but when it ended, there was no sale, and Ebay automatically listed the item again. I thought if it had a bid that meant it would sell?? Any idea what happened?

eBay determined that the "buyer" was really a scammer, and suspended them. Their bid had to be cancelled because they were not a registered user any more.

Was it this auction?https://www.ebay.com/itm/285830006540
SOMMA TOOL Co. ORBX2/1.000 ROTARY BROACH HOLDER 1" SHANK DIA. / 2" SHANK LENGTH
eBay permanently suspended that bidder.
So yes your item ended without a bidder.

Count your blessings that you dodged a bullet because ebay caught the scammer before you shipped the item and lost it forever.

Ok, that makes sense. But now ai have a couple more questions...
1) Why did Ebay not inform me of this?
2) Where can I find my bid retraction and cancellation history?
Thanks!!!

Go into the item an click where it says 0 bids.

Panther-turning, what are you doing selling such an expensive item with no experience to speak of ? Really, you should wait a while until you're more familiar with the ins and outs of eBay selling before you relist that piece. You're just setting yourself up for a scammer!
I'm just trying to be helpful, not critical.

"1) Why did Ebay not inform me of this?" Most of the time when things like this happen, they might still but there seems to be a delay in them sending a message.
Suggest you drop the auction and just list as buy it now at the price you would be happy with, with instant payment. Helps cut down on the sports bidders.
Hope you understand that with new or returning sellers (haven't sold anything in past 90 days), there can be up to a 30 day hold on payouts. How ever, you need to ship in your stated handling time and can use pending funds to pay for shipping.
