Are these earrings?

If so from what era?  I've researched earring backs and come up with nothing.  Thanks for any help!

How big are they? How big is the inside of the circle?

Inside of circle is about 5/8".  I tried as earrings but do not think they would stay on very long.

If they have any weight to they, I think they may be tablecloth weights. They look similar to some that my aunt had for her patio set. You would put them at each corner to keep the cloth from blowing off in light winds.

Hmmm..they do kinda look like the 'cheater earring's from the 60`s..only kind I was allowed to wear till I was old enuff to get my ears pierced   But they do look more 'ornate' if that makes sense..but that`s all I can think of

Very light weight.. do not think used as table cloth weights.

Mmmm. I don't think they are earrings because that kind of spring hinge would create a very tight clamp for an earlobe. I've seen similar hinges on glove holder accessories, but have no clue what these actually are.
