What happens with the taxes eBay has collected from our buyers (& paid to the buyer's state) on our behalf over the past two years (deducted from our payouts so we are whole) now that the taxable $600/yr+ sales law has been rescinded for the second consecutive year?
Since I believe these were state taxes, how do our customers recover these taxes paid; money which should now be refunded to our buyers by their state? Must each buyer taxed, now have to quantify each of their eBay purchases & claim on their state tax return, the funds that in hindsight, should have never been charged?

Why should the buyers be refunded for sales tax they paid.
The $600 has nothing to do with sales tax.

You are confusing 2 different things.
Sales tax the buyer pays and eBay sends to the state.
$600 INCOME the seller made.
2 totally different issues...

I believe you're confusing income tax with sales tax @cmummeg .
Sales (consumption) tax is charged when consumers spend money.
Income tax is assessed on earned money.
