Need help with silver hallmark - what country?

I usually come on here to help out with silver hallmarks but this one has be stumped. I have this covered sugar bowl listed as English but I'm pretty sure it is not. Could be Polish but I dont believe the #8 exists on Polish marks. Anybody know what it is? Thanks992412640_o.jpg992412818_o.jpg

IF you are not sure if English, don’t list it as such.

Thought it could be English at first then after getting a bid figured no way. Looks like I won't be getting an answer on this one.

No way it's English, i agree. Probably not American, either, as they would likely be copying the look of English style marks; or having a more obvious maker's mark. It's also possible that none of those stamps are actually company marks - you could have the stamps of individual craftsmen, plus some tax or purity marks. Good luck, it's a beauty.

According to this website it’s certainly Polish:

and the 8 represents an ‘800’ silver content in degrees of thousandths. If there were two numbers it would apparently indicate it being Russian, but with just the one number it’s of European, Polish origin.

I don't think that's correct. The image on that site labelled "Polish marks for 800 silver (used after 1963)"  shows a number 3 beside the head, not an 8. See here for confirmation:

Could the OP's hallmark also be a "3"? But then there is an additional problem, which is the fact that the woman's head on the Polish hallmarks I can find looks quite different, in detail, from the OP's.
