I can't help with the signature, but I can help you with further research, perhaps, by noting that this is Mission San José y San Miguel de Aguayo , in San Antonio, Texas.  When you say simply "Mission San Jose," most people will think of the California mission.  

You've looked at this with a loupe, and you're sure that it's not a print or a reproduction?
