A case where both the name and the date are clear! The name is Kantor. The date is 1984. (I think based on the style we can safely say it's 1984 rather than 1884.) I don't want to duplicate your efforts, so which of the Kantors have you already eliminated in your own searches?

Seiously, though, I eliminated Dalia and then thought OP had surely already worked through all the obvious ones.

Some very odd positioning of the center figure; he has a man's head below his chin and a disjointed throat below that under that arm. ?

I can't even figure who the dangling arm on the right belongs to.

We will be needing the services of Inspector Clouseau.

Spoke with Paul Kantor's son this morning and he claims that this is not of Paul's painting. Darn!

The letters of Paul's are actually formed quite differently from how your artist signed - more rounded.
