Ebay limits flat rate shipping charge on books to $25. This does not
cover my cost on shipping some lots. They claim the limit increases
according to the number of books, but I haven't seen that happen.
Ebay, a multi-zillion dollar corporation is very concerned that every
state will require THEM to have an auctioneer's license, so, of course,
they are going to deny that they are an auction company.
It DOES NOT apply to everyone. You may auction your own personal items
that have not been purchased specifically for resale AND there is a
$10.000 threshold before the requirement applies.
Very good point. There are numerous on-line auction companies who do
home clean-cuts and estate sales. They have the license. Their clients
do not need one.
