Auction end time differs from local time

I am in the U.S. Central Time Zone, but every item I am watching shows a "TIME ENDS:" that corresponds to the Pacific Time Zone. Can I correct his?

Thank you for your thorough explanation. One would think a tech company as big and advanced as eBay would have the resources to prevent such confusion among their customers, but I guess monopolies don’t have to worry about such things.
