Our third day at eBay Open 2017 was dominated by three “E”s—expectations, experiences, and excitement. We explored the ways eBay can help sellers meet buyer expectations in our General Sessions, ramped up the fun on the Expo Floor with interactive experiences, and (drumroll…) we announced the winners of the SHINE Awards for Small Business!
Smart, Easy, Profitable Selling
During our morning sessions, VP of B2C Selling & Global Trust Bob Kupbens walked us through Seller Hub, Promotions Manager, and promoted listings. Bob also touched on eBay Authenticate, eBay Guaranteed Delivery, and eBay-branded shipping supplies—three ways sellers can enhance buyer confidence.
Sellers joined him on stage to talk about how these tools enhance their businesses and make their lives easier. Here’s what they had to say:
“I love that eBay doesn’t make us pay for [promoted listings] until after the item sells. There’s no risk!”
—Theresa Cox, Club Red 97
“Seeing that . . . [buyers can] search by two-day or three-day [delivery] is the most exciting thing I’ve seen in the last six months.”
—Casey Parris, The Electronix Zone
“[Seller Hub] can definitely help with all aspects of your selling on eBay; you definitely need to get on it.”
—Spencer Apland, 541 Motorsports

Our Future Is Full of Color
Bright and early this morning, our Open Studio guests, North America CMO Suzy Deering and Chief Creative Officer Renee Blake, talked about eBay’s current marketing campaign, “Fill Your Cart With Color.”
Suzy explained that we wanted to break the habit of “bored shopping” by offering buyers a colorful, unique, personal option. And, we’re making sure this multi-media campaign shows up for buyers—we’ve launched it on TV, radio, billboards, emails, and more. Renee discussed how we’re taking this colorful campaign and applying it to our Holiday strategy. Check out the eBay for Business Facebook to watch this and other Open Studio discussions.
Customer Care Corner: Checking In on Your Success
Open attendees had the opportunity to schedule one-on-one consultations with eBay Customer Care specialists. Sellers got an exclusive assessment of their business and actionable advice to grow sales and increase velocity. Hundreds of checks-ups were booked, so here’s to more sales in the near future!
Immerse Yourself in eBay Open
On the Expo floor, there are so many things to do! Attendees had a chance to snap a selfie in the neon eBay heart and make a shareable gif at the Photography Studio. And, they got to put their creativity to work on our eBay Coloring Wall and Seller Signature Wall.
Congratulations to Our SHINE Award Winners!
The most anticipated moment of the entire week finally arrived—the announcement of the SHINE Awards for Small Business winners! We received over 2,400 submissions from sellers across the U.S., and selecting the finalists (let alone the winners) was a difficult task. We were inspired by all of their stories, but only one could win the title.
We are also excited to congratulate our category winners:
