Yep, eBay came to life in 1995. When I joined, it was not a very attractive site. It was constantly breaking down because their servers, etc. weren't powerful enough to support it.

Back then, many sellers used reserves, because if you didn't, chances were pretty good that eBay would go down close to the end of your auctions. As a matter of fact, you could almost be sure that eBay would go down sometime during the 7 days that your auction was running! There was no PayPal. eBay had their own payment service. There was no Buy It Now, & there were no eBay Stores. It's a wonder people stayed around! ; )

I remember most of that too. I was on for a year or two pokeing around and if I wanted to buy something I had my BIL do it for me before I signed up.

Heck I didn't even get my Paypal account until about 2 years ago, I always mailed M.O for everything.

I remember when the Buy it Now and Stores opened. They had all kinds of specials on those.

You know you are right, looking back it really is a wonder they really even made it. But I am glad they did.

I remember when I first started to look they didn't have the gallery pictures or the features. You actually had to click on the otem to see what it was.

I love the gallery pictures you can get an idea of what it is without having to open it up.
