I bought an antique pocket watch. On the inside cover it is marked C.W.C.CO. With the word " TRACE MARK" not trade mark. And it has the cresent moon and star. Everything I see said it is Cresent Watch Case Company, However the marks that I have seen show the words "TRADE MARK" not "TRACE MARK"
Also the case tested positive for 10K even though the case is not marked.
I have not seen any marks for the Chicago Watch Case Company. Does the "TRACE MARK" mean anything or was it just stamped wrong. I have looked at it under loop and it is defently TRACE and not TRADE.
Any help or clairification would be greatly appreciated. TIA!
