hi, boy how the boards have changed!
here is a drawing of a find yesterday in a lake that had a swimming beach from the 1800's. found by underwater metal detecting.
there are no finds or clasps on the ends of the chains so maybe they just hang. there is a bar on the back like to thread a scarve through?.
I have seen some strange things in my time but i am just stumped with this. all you learned people out there should not have a problem id ing it. it is either brass or gold. front has baroque relief for lack of a better description. no real image on front. will get a pic soon. but here is my VERY VERY good drawing.
