Porcelain Doll ID Help

I bought this old doll today. It is about 24" with porcelain head, hands, and shoes. Dress with lace. Looks like human hair. There is a name on the side of the head near the ear but I can't read it. MON something for the last name. 

Any help with ID, age, or value would be appreciated.

 I think the doll is made of polyresin--not porcelain, with (perhaps) a wooden body (?). It was made by Anna Moncrief, circa 1993. I'm not finding much info on this dollmaker. One sold recently through a Goodwill site for $6.00, but that seems ridiculously low. I'll keep looking for info.
