Hello! I am writing because my husbands late father used to make porcelain chess sets, under the company name "Malvern Porcelain Company Ltd” in the UK. My husbands mother met his father at an art studio, she was a ceramics painter and he was a porcelain maker/clay sculptor. They started a business together and made about 75 absolutely beautiful hand made chess sets. In the early 90's, they were all sold to a department store and dispersed from there. I have come across one set on this site: http://www.hibid.com/lot/6144562/malvern-porcelain-chess-set/ as well as another auction site. Christies also has it in on of their old catalogs; but no one has been able to trace any sets or give me any buyer information. There are no sets in our family, and to find something of my husbands father to give him would be the greatest gift. Any help or lead no matter how small would be so appreciated!
