Hi! Looking for some help determining what model rifle (or shotgun?) this stock is for. Is it long or short action? Also possibly its age. Any help would be great! Thanks a bunch!

Is this buttplate older? Most I found have a spur at the top.Is this buttplate older? Most I found have a spur at the top.

The buttplate looks like those found on a Remington 1889 10 GA.  That's all I know.

Shotgun doesn't usually have a Monte Carlo stock.  That's to a rifle, a good guess (and that's all it is) is for model 700.   Short or long action, no guess on my part.

Well, it looks like it belongs to the Remington 700 bolt action, right hand, what length action is a question. ADL grades I don't believe had Monte Carlo stocks, so it probably was at least a BDL configuration stock. It doesn't really matter the caliber, just the action length. It might possibly fit one of there economy grade weapons as well and not necessarily of that circa.

well it does matter on caliber-such as 7mm is long action & .243 is short action-the circa is also revelant-early models were CUT checkering-later models were STAMPED.
