I know it's a stretch but I couldn't remember what your piece was reminding me of ....and then I looked outside the door... I know it doesn't look at all the same but the overall structure is very similar there is a small pplatform for something to sit on and then an extended arm with a place for a small chain..... this piece originally had a small chain which is no longer present.. it was just too degraded ....that went through a small hole and the top arm ...I'm guessing to secure the pot or item that this held originally? Could your piece have been used in the same way to secure perhaps a vase or tall decanter from tipping over and out? I know it's a stretch..
