I am returning a wrong item and ebay wants a photo added to the details of the return. I cannot  upload photos of the items , they are the wrong size, would a picture show the half inch difference?

I don't believe it makes any difference.

A "wrong item" return is one that the seller has to take. The seller will have to approve the return or EBay will step in and give you a refund and let you keep the item...

I do not believe the photos will truly affect your return in any meaningful way. I personally believe the use of photos in returns was added to ..... "deter" dishonest returns?

I think it probably works pretty well as you have shown you are concerned if the pic will show what it needs to for your return to go through. I think this is honestly a psychological ploy for a buyer to have to show "evidence" of the issue, to get them to not scam sellers ... although I believe it has 0 consequential effect regardless.

My own experiences and understanding. Not sure if they are true or not.

AFAIK they are now requesting photo proof in some instances and it needs to be provided.
