I sold a book, got great feedback from the buyer, and then 2 weeks later they want to return the book "changed mind" AKA read it! I have free returns as TRS so I really had no choice. I shipped it out media mail. It came back to me as first class. From California to Ohio no less, so that is a big price difference. I don't see the charge yet, but shouldn't it come back to me the same way it went to her? Is this right?? I will probably be charged the larger amount. It was free shipping if that makes a difference.

She already used the label so you can look at pending charges for your upcoming invoice to see what you were charged.
eBay only issues FC return labels. If you wanted it returned MM you would have had to purchase the label elsewhere and upload it to the return for the buyer to use.

Ebay uses a faster method to return it seems. Expensive it is. Be glad it was not priority.
And with first class you will be lucky to get it in any reasonable time with USPS messed up.
Not much we can do about it.

I thought if you used ebay for your labels and had a return, the return label isn't supposed to cost any more than the original shipping label?
OP---you don't have to offer free returns in order to be TRS---just TRplus.

I have the same understanding of the process as you, but OP didn't say where they purchased the outgoing shipping label so I gave a general response.

I checked back on the order details. I shipped media mail and it was returned first class. I am brand new to managed payments. Where is pending charges @coffeebean832
Sorry it took so long to respond. I couldn't get logged in.
