missing mail problem with 3 media mail items

on February 24 I mail 5 items.  3 were media mail.

the non media mail items arrived no problems.

all 3 media mail item never had any scans besides the acceptance scan.

i filed a missing mail/where's my package.  they got back to me and said with 2 days that

they couldn't help me and to file insurance claim if i purchased that.  i had not purchased insurance.

obviously they didn't even try and trace what happened because the answer was so quick.

i went into my local post office that i mailed it from and they said tough we don't hold packages and we can't help you.

I think its odd that all 3 media mail packages never had any scans and the rest of the items got delivered with no problems.  the media mail packages where all going to different states.

No one from the post office is helping based on the 2 things I have tried.  So i came here hoping that someone had another idea that I have not tried.

I know media mail is slow but from february 24 to now with no scans seems a bit bad even for post office.

any ideas of another thing to try?

i have contacted all the buyer and said i am trying a couple of things and just wondering if i am out of luck or new avenue to explore.

Hello, sorry this is happening, but your issues are very typical across the board with USPS, and not just media mail, but also 1st Class, and priority mail as well. Other than hoping that it gets found and delivered, that's about all that can be done. USPS will not have an intern go around and check the bins for the parcels. 

Are you passed the delivery dates? If so, the buyers will most likely file a Item not received claim and will get a refund. Hopefully this was not an expensive item and you won't suffer a big hit. If refund is given, and then item is found and delivered, keep your fingers crossed to see if the buyer is nice enough to pay you, since at that point the matter has been closed by eBay on their favor.

i have been in contact with all buyers and so far they say they are willing to give it a bit of time.  based on feedback number they have been on ebay awhile and seem understanding to this point.  one of the reason i was proactive in reaching out to them.  

all i am doing right now is crossing my fingers.

might try another person at post office tomorrow that seems a bit more helpful to other customers when they come in.

Good for you that your buyers are understanding, helps out. There are some that are ready to file the INR 24hrs after paying. 

Also, and I suppose you've checked anyway, but sometimes the difference between media and 1st is not that bad.

You can enter the tracking number for each package at USPS.COM, and click the link to be notified via email when updates are available.  That seems to sometimes get the package moving.

i did enter tracking and asked for updates.  at this point i am willing to try anything. thanks for idea.

I generally send 1 book 1st class but there were 3 books in each sale so it will well over 1 pound.  i do try and avoid media mail but priority would have been my only choice here.  but of course now that would have been the smart thing to do.

that seems to have worked. a new scan showed up just about an hour after I put the tracking request.

I have a Media Mail item that I processed at USPS on March 9. It has been ten days and there is no other update beyond "Mar 9, 2021, 7:10pm DEPART POST OFFICE".
