eBay does a disservice to sellers on a return if it was the buyer's mistake. If the buyer made a purchase by mistake, the buyer should pay for return shipping. The seller is not protected at all. You have to refund them for the item plus shipping costs that they paid. Then you have to pay for return shipping. Depending on the price that you bought the item for, you could be in a negative status because of the buyer's mistake! eBay needs to amend thieir policy to protect the seller more.

yeah good luck with that. The last 5 returns have all be **bleep** Nothing was wrong or SNAD in ANY case but ebay sided with buyer every time.Buyer actually took apart a bunsen burner... modified it... then when it would not work the way he thought returned it damaged ..my fault says ebay...so we just have to make it up by adding a dollar or two to other peoples shipping to cover the loss.

Unfortunately we must Accept what we do not have the ability to change.

Ebay generally isn't about protecting the seller (which I think they have a huge surplus of). It's about protecting the buyer and making them feel safe enough to spend money and buy from the site (which they are having a shortage of compared to other sites).
This isn't anything I generally agree with... I'm just stating the workings of the eBay mind.

Thanks. Yes, I will add a dollar or two to something else.
