So, is anyone else having issues with eBay Standard Envelopes shipping through USPS?
I've had four not delivered in the past month and a half. Today, one was returned to me stating there was postage due ($3.72). Also, I get positive feedback on about 1/3 of the items I send out, but they never even show a delivery scan.
I'm also not able to find any info on the USPS website about filing a missing item claim.
This new envelope pricing was a blessing to me selling sports cards, as I was able to sell lower priced cards and ship them cheaply. The issues, however, and the inability to get those issues solved is ruining the experience.
Does anyone have any suggestions or similar experiences?
Thanks in advance!
Matt

I think a lot of sellers are sending these exceeding or too close to the 1/4" thick guidelines. Also adding tape and "do not bend" while using semi-rigid mailers that are too stiff when a toploader is placed inside. All these things can cause the the letter to get pulled and charged postage due or returned.
I am running about 90% of these that are completing to a delivered status. Some of them show out for delivery for two days before they actually show delivered. I have had only 1 customer say they did not receive and 1 returned as non-machinable. 100% have uploaded within 24 hours of dropping off which is the only reason I keep using the service. I also only use a regular envelope with a toploader inside and keep them well under the 1/4" limit. Heres a link if you need to file a claim.

I did about 10 of these on a trial basis quite awhile back. Tracking was very spotty; only about 1/2 showed a "Delivered" entry in tracking. I didn't have any returned nor postage due nor a buyer claim, but I decided to discontinue usage of this method because of the spotty tracking.
The fact "Delivered" is posted at the last sorting machine at the last distribution hub in most (all?) cases, not at the delivering PO, is also less than reassuring.
I suspect, though cannot confirm, that the some sorting machines have had difficulty with the flanges on the back of mailers. If I try this again at some point I'll try a single card in top loader with a PWE and see how that goes. Until then, I group cards for listings and ship First Class.

Thank you so much!!!
I may switch from semi-rigid envelopes to regular ones. I'm also going to only ship cards under $10. I get nervous using this shipping method with anything in the $11-$20 range.

Hello. I was hoping it was ok to ask a follow up question. I see you have a link to file a claim... is that for the buyer or seller to use? I ask because anytime a eBay envelope does not get to the buyer, the buyer automatically opens a case against the seller... and we end up having to give them their money back which I feel is a little unfair we have sent it out, but have no proof of that and no tracking to prove it. I am a long time eBay seller and do not want this kind of thing showing up on my account. Thank you. 🙂

Yes, I am running into the same problem. It just seemed to start since the end of January this year. Of about 50 cards I sold, 8 never had tracking that registered. I know 4 arrived, because I got positive feedback from the buyer and thanks for the card. The other 4 I have had 3 buyers contact me they never received cards. Another order was 3 weeks old. I haven't heard from that buyer. (some buyers don't do feedback). This is a real problem for sellers. As buyers learn about this, it increases the possibility to scam sellers. Again, I have sold 100's of cards before and all of them had shown up in tracking. Not sure why the glitch with the Postal Service, but I am getting fed up with it too. It is cutting even more into my profits and hurting my selling experience too.

I am getting the same issue. The problem is I always get an error and it never generates a label. I end up buying the USPS label and they give me a refund. This time they said they cannon because I categorized it wrong. THis is totally wrong I know I categorized correctly. Now I am taking a hit on the shipping. Any suggestions like I am giving these cards away which is not fair.

Yes I have same issues, I send out the sales the same day I sell them or the very next day. About a 1/3 of them actually get scanned properly and the others never even show they're recieved in. I'm losing money and cards because they are alot of dishonest buyers on ebay. Trying to screw someone over is sadly what the world has come to. There's no way of proving confirmed delivery so ebay will always side with the buyer unfortunately. Even tho it's ebays problem with this fake ass tracking numbers. I think the idea is great but the constant being f'd over is getting ridiculous and ebay needs to fix this issue. Or I'm going to drop using ebay standardized shipping postage!!!!!

There's a current tech issue with tracking @prodigysauctions. Read more here for info on contacting CS to get your account added to the tech ticket. Track your packages here. For any packages that don't get a delivery scan you can file a lost package claim - info about that here down at the bottom in the FAQ section.
