Looking at your photos, the label is opening in Adobe and looks correct, but obviously appears to be printing in the wrong orientation.
This is odd as Adobe should output in Portrait, as shown in the preview. You can test this, by changing the Target Printer in the preview window, and outputting to your laser/inkjet printer. This will tell whether it is the Zebra or something else is going on.
Go check the following:
Check the orientation set in the Zebra printer preferences from the Control Panel.
Check the orientation set in the Page Setup in the browser.

To answer you question "is this printer actually supported". Yes, it is backward compatible to the 2844 series. However, since yours is the "T" model, instead of selecting the LP2844, try selecting the TLP2844, which is really its predecessor, although I doubt this will make any difference.

Open the Devices and Printers folder, right click your HP, scroll down to Printer Preferences, and see if the Zebra is hiding there. If so, click the Zebra and check the settings.

If it is not hiding behind the HP, are there any other printers? If so right click and check them.
Otherwise it would appear the printer is not installed properly and not using the proper driver, which certainly would be causing problems like this.
I would try reinstalling the printer using the latest driver from the Zebra website.

The DYMO 4XL is a great 4x6 printer for ebay/paypal and more reasonably priced than a Zebra. However, there is no reason your Zebra should not be working properly.
Now that you have the driver reinstalled, go to the Control Panel and check the printer preferences, especially paper size and orientation.
Also if you still have a label to reprint, take a screen shot of the label preview to post. That will tell a lot about what is going on.
