So a very contentious dispute was ruled in my favor. When I printed the return label, I noticed the address on it was going to a different state from where the item came from. I contact the seller and the seller responds that the address is over 4 years old and not to ship it there. But they wouldn't provide a new label.
I contact eBay and explain the situation. They tell me it's not my fault or Ebay's fault if the seller hasn't updated their return address. I contact the seller again ask them to straigten it out with Ebay and provide a correct shipping label or that I would have no choice but to ship with the existing label. Seller says "We'll see in the long run", which I took as a veiled threat.
This is a fairly expensive item, so I don't want to just ship it to a bad address, especially after receiving a veiled threat. i've already alerted my credit card company. What should I do?

If the item is is delivered to the address on the label, you get a refund.
If the item is not claimed, you get a refund.
If the item is returned to you, you get a refund.
Quit talking to the seller. And for now, quit talking to eBay.

Did you file a chargeback? Hopefully you didn't. Anyway, just use the label you were issued. You WILL get a refund. The seller is responsible for having the correct info on file and I believe its a policy violation to have the wrong address on file. you have to return to the address on the ebay-issued label so ship the item back and watch the tracking. Once the package is delivered, the seller has 6 business days to refund you. You will probably have to ask ebay to step in on day 7. If the package is returned to you, once you see that its coming back to you, call customer service and have them take care of the refund.

"We'll see in the long-run."
What "long-run" is there for an Ebay transaction that didn't go well, unless it was meant to mean coss-paths in the future or something like that?

I don't think that was a veiled threat. All they said was "we'll see", to me that is smug way of saying "you're wrong, I'm right and we'll see it in the end". The seller is clearly expecting to prevail here but they will be the one who will "see" when you win 🙂

I could see that. I would agree with 100%, if they simply said "we'll see". I've used that phrase. But they added "in the long-run". Is there a "long-run" to an Ebay dispute? What happens in the "long-run?"
I don't think there is a "long-run" to an Ebay dispute. It gets decided and people are supposed to move on.
Regardless, I've sent it off using the label they gave me and hopefully, I'm capable of defending myself. I guess we'll see... in the long-run.

It could have been a veiled threat, you would be a better judge of that than any of us responders because you corresponded with the seller. Without seeing everything, to me it just didn't sound like a threat 🙂
No there is no "long run" with ebay. Once the item is delivered to the seller and your return status on ebay updates to "delivered", the seller has 6 business days to refund you.if he doesn't, you'll see a link to ask ebay to step in and you WILL get a refund. And then its a done deal. The refund cannot be reversed. If the seller appeals, he won't win, ebay may give him a courtesy refund (I highly doubt they will in this case because he failed to update his address) BUT they won't take back your refund.

"We'll see in the long-run."
I wouldn't worry OP. Your seller was probably just listening to The Eagles.
