Wrapping a package for shipping

Hello everyone.  I am new to selling on eBay.  I just sold a pair of boots that are in a shoe box without any weird slopes to it.  It is literally a perfect rectangle.  Is it okay to wrap it with a nice thick, shipping type of wrapping paper or is it better to place this box inside another box for shipping?  Just looking for some advice/wisdom from other selling and shipping pros as I am not that experienced yet.  Thank you in advance.

I would pack the box holding the boots, with newspaper, bubble wrap, or whatever. to minimize the chance for damage (scuffing) to the boots.  Then as advised above, place that box in a sturdy corrugated box, with adequate padding between the boxes.

Best to put the box in a box to ship.

This is important if it is the original box so damage from shipping does not happen.

Can you wrap packages usps?

From USPS:

"Paper wrapping is not recommended; it can catch and tear off in mail processing equipment."

The shelf shoe box shoes come in is not a  sufficeient mailing box. You need to put that box in a corrugated box.
