What's next for missing item?

Tracking shows pacage mailed 10/8 and not a single thing after that. What do I need to do please?

You need to go to your Purchase History and locate this particular transaction.

What was the last estimated delivery date? If it has passed by more than a few days, you need to open an item not received case.

If that date is still in the future, you need to sit tight and wait for your item to arrive.  

There is nothing really wrong thus far.  Sometimes things do not get scanned while they are traveling to you.

You can check its progress by inputting the tracking #.

While you're waiting for its arrival, how about reading eBay's Money Back Guarantee for buyers? It's seen in every listing and explains how you're protected when/if a transaction goes wrong.  

ETA:  Just go back to the transaction in your Purchase History and click on the tracking #.  Just did that with a recent purchase of mine and discovered it had accidentally gone to a city about 40 miles from me, but is now on its way here.

It is a board and information can be taken the wrong way.

A lot of folks come here have no clue as what to do; so info is posted in that form.

Are you the buyer or seller?

 

Shipped USPS,  enough time may have passed that you can open a missing / lost package claim on the USPS website.  Easy to do and very often gets your package located and moving.

 

FedEx, again go the carrier website and check for help available.  UPS, same thing.

 

If you are the seller please let your buyer know you are reaching out to the shipper,  are / have requested a missing package investigation and will keep them informed.

 

If you are the buyer please work with the seller as they attempt to locate your package and get it to you.  It is my personal experience that 99% of eBay sellers are honest, decent people who want happy buyers.

 

Please let us know what happens with your package.

You weren't.

 

You were simply given a complete answer by soh.maryl.  Some people who come on here to ask questions are novices, and some are simply unfamiliar with some uncommon aspect of eBay.  We  have no idea where you fall on that spectrum, so the way that soh.maryl answered you was quite considerate.
