Does anyone know how soft-pack (ie. padded envelopes) are treated by eBay International Shipping? It's clear that this service is now based BOTH on weight AND size.
Many of our lighter/less expensive items ship in padded envelopes. For non-media items, I'm "somewhat clear" on soft-pack cubic tiers for domestic shipping (including the domestic leg of eBay International Shipping), but I'm guessing that the international leg doesn't use the USPS tiers at all.
How best to handle a book shipping, for example, in a #3 envelope"? For media mail the tier/sizing is irrelevant, for Priority that would be tier 2, for Ground Advantage tier 3, but what do you enter for sizing for the package to make it work for eBay International Shipping orders?
Note: Neither eBay nor Endicia/Dazzle -- or Amazon for that matter -- have proper soft-pack cubic shipping methods for Priority or Ground Advantage, so my thinking is to "simulate" the proper tier based on USPS charts, making sure to write the original (full) envelope size under the endicia. Hope this will allow us to use said cubic rates.
