Using Ebay International Standard Delivery and Using Priority Boxes

Hello. I was curious if I could use priority boxes for Ebay International Standard Delivery Option. Thank you.

You can ship your package to the ebay center using priority mail.

Re: Using Ebay International Standard Delivery and Using Priority Boxes

I wouldn't do this.

My experience is that the they use DHL for most of the international deliveries and they reserve the right to repackage parcels that they deem to have insufficient packaging. Having a USPS Priority box is an easy excuse to put your item inside an additional box and bump your package into a more expensive billing tier.

I am all for them repackaging or whatever, the buyer has already paid. Out of my hands.

Disclaimer: I do not ship international, so I'm not familiar with the GSP ToS:

It seems to me that eBay is not going to lose money on shipping, so if the repackaging results in a higher billing tier as jinxremover13 has suggested might be a possibility, I would tend to believe that eBay will take the additional cost out of your future payouts.

If you haven't already done it, you might want to investigate a little more before you decide whether or not this is a good idea.

GSP sellers only pay to ship to Erlanger, Kentucky. Once it reaches there our shipping  responsibilities are over.

Re: Using Ebay International Standard Delivery and Using Priority Boxes

That makes sense. My concern would be that if the label wasn't a "Priority Mail Postage" label that it would get returned to me, since the Post Office clearly marks each of their PM boxes as "Priority Mail Postage Required". But, as long as they're willing to transport it with whatever eBay's label says that it is, it sounds like you're golden.

On a side note, I recently had a SFRB (I thought) delivered to a buyer with postage due. As it turned out, it was my fault for not paying closer attention to the box... they have a regular PM box almost exactly the same size before assembly and I had grabbed that one by accident. You guessed it - the PO recalculated for zone based shipping and after I got pics from the buyer, I sent her a refund for the postage due she paid.

So... there are postal workers out there who will double check your postage.

Re: Using Ebay International Standard Delivery and Using Priority Boxes

I was wondering too.  I've had a couple of International Standard Delivery items that got addressed to an eBay warehouse in the States (and then was forwarded to Canada or wherever).

To my surprise, I have an item I am mailing today from US to Ontario, Canada and when I print eBay International Standard Delivery postage label for this small item, it was addressed directly to the buyer in Canada.  I had planned to use a Priority Flat Rate envelope had the buyer been in the US.  Because this is going straight to Canada and has a custom declaration on the label, I'm afraid to use a priority envelope or box since nowhere on the label does it say Priority Mail.  Guess I will need to repack.

eBay could do a better job on their help screen describing what kind of packaging is or is not allowed for both the eBay Global Shipping Program and eBay International Standard Delivery Program.

International Standard, and GSP are 2 different animals.

As I understand it, International Standard is the sellers responsibility from start to finish.

True but the original poster is not asking about a gsp transaction.

A seller isn't billed for an ebay international standard label until the size and dimensions

of the package are confirmed at the shipping depot.

Re: Using Ebay International Standard Delivery and Using Priority Boxes

Can I choose eBay international standard delivery and use a USPS priority mail shipping box or if I use a USPS priority mail shipping box then I have to choose priority international shipping when I buy the label online?
