Hello,
If I were to purchase a printer on this site which is listed in Used condition, but says something like "Untested", "Selling as-is", or says nothing in the description at all about whether or not it was tested, would I be able to open a not as described case if the printer turns out to be in non-working condition when it arrives? The description for the "Used" condition on eBay says that the item should be fully working.

Yes you would. Can you not find a more reliable deal with a seller who has tested their product?

Depends on where it is listed, there is a categOry called parts and salvage,if you find it there, assume it does not work, and you cant file INAD

I would not buy used printers that are untested with sold as is. Printers aren't that expensive so why buy a machine that could potentially have problems?

Too many things can go wrong with printers. Paper jams could have bent the feed bar. Not seating ink cartridges properly could cause leakage which can gum u everything.
Like others have said. You can get a basic printer so cheep anymore that it just doesn't make sense to take a chance on a used one.
I gave away my old printer when it wouldn't connect with my new windows 10 computer. I gave it away with the warning that though it worked great with my old desktop running a older windows system when I tried to connect it to the new windows 10 computer it wouldn't connect even with assistance from Microsoft and HP. With a new printer you will at least know what systems it will connect with.

Wouldn't consider buying this printer. Don't think it will be a diamond in the rough you are hoping for but rather a chunk of coal - the seller is telling you that.. We bought a HP Desk Jet 3755 for $50 at Best Buy - new works fine for our needs- compact - not the greatest printing quality but does well on shipping labels & other printing we do and the combo pack for black/color cartridges was around $26.00.

If you need a printer and are not picky, you can get non-wifi (heck, maybe even some wi-fi) models new for around $20. Yes, this includes the ink, so yes, the price of a new printer is less than the price of the ink.
