I bought a replacement screen for my notebook. It appeared to be defective (vertical red lines), so I opened a return request (Doesn't work or defective) on 13th in the morning.
The rules say that seller has three days to respond.
There's also a note atop the request that the seller has to respond by 16th. They never did. I might be wrong in interpreting that "by 16th" but I wasn't able to escalate neither in the morning nor in the evening.
Ok, fine, timezones and all... But I still don't see that magic button though it's morning of 17th.
Funny thing is that seller's other listings state that they are away until 24th. Isn't that the reason I can't escalate? I wouldn't be surprised knowing how many lies/tricks/loopholes ebay&paypal rules have.

You will see in just over an hour Ask eBay to step in it.
Select Seller didn't respond.
eBay will put the case on hold for 5 days --
so that the seller, unfortunately away for more than 5 days --
can PayPal the cash to you to buy a return label with online tracking.
When the seller fails to do this, eBay will force a refund --
without requiring a return.

Has it been 72 hours yet? It might be set up to allow you to escalate then. I doubt that it has anything to do with the seller being away however, since you know they are away, perhaps you could give them more time before you do ask ebay to step in/escalate.
