USPS Theft

4-24-2022 Package sent to Tucson Arizona was delivered with false details about drop location. My customer's front entry was described by delivery person with completely incorrect details. The P O claimed they had completed the delivery then closed the case.  Email correspondence with my customer indicated that the front entry as described by PO was falsified. So that is the end: Package LOST - USPS denies any mishandling - EBAY seller and buyer have NO recourse, No appeal process, left with a conclusion that the entire process is a roll of dice, win/lose/no draw.

HEY EBAY! You need to recommend what us customers can do to salvage the belief that your system of buying and selling has some modicum of protection from the bad practices of the 'United States Postal Service'!

Possibly use UPS and FEDEX instead of a poorly run postal system...increase the cost of shipping, in turn reducing the sales across your 'board'.

Angry , new seller, BILLSTFFN.

Check if your buyer may have misled you in that email correspondence, @billstffn.

Go to https://earth.google.com then click on the magnifying glass Search icon. Type in the address and review the actual front entry for yourself.

In any case, when tracking shows Delivered, you're protected from a false Item Not Received dispute at eBay, PayPal, and the buyer's card issuer, regardless of how it paid.

I would advise your customer to talk to his post office...........You can't tell if he is telling the truth or not.......

I have had FedEx misdeliver a package on 3 occasions, even providing a picture of where it was delivered.

The second time I went thru a whole 45 minute conversation with a "regional representative".

The third time, I couldn't even get thru to FexEx to complain, the automated system kept telling me the  "package has been delivered." and disconnected me.

The seller is NO help, just says they will let their regional rep know.  And they won't ship any other way because it's "free shipping".

While I have had no problems with UPS, other people do.

There is no "perfect" carrier.

Actually, ebay does cover someone in this case. They cover the seller if shipping carrier tracking shows 'delivered'.

It's now up to the buyer to figure it out with the carrier etc.

This is incorrect.

It's admirable that you're trying to help your buyer but you (as the seller) are protected. I'm assuming you shipped to the buyer's address and generated the shipping label through the transaction. And if that's the case, as long as tracking shows delivery, you will win an INR case.

If the buyer opened a non-receipt case, respond to it with the tracking number and put in the comments section, "according to USPS tracking # (such and such), the item was delivered on (date) at (time) to (zip code).

It'll be up the buyer to contact his local post office or postmaster to have them check the GPS info to see if and where it was delivered.

You as the seller make the choice on how the item will be shipped.  You can choose to skip USPS and use FedEx or UPS.  That is up to you.  However, they have issues as well at times.  No shipper is 100% perfect all the time.
